River-Cade Smile Contest begins Sunday

Cade Smile Contest will get under way with preliminary competition at 2 p.m. Sunday at Thinker Toys, 4400 Singing Hills Blvd.

Six finalists, three girls and three boys, will be selected in each of three age categories, 3 to 5, 6 to 8 and 9 to 11. Jackie from KPTH Fox 44 will be the mistress of ceremonies.

The Smile Contest finals will begin at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson Dance Pavilion near the Flight 232 Memorial in Chris Larsen Park The final competition will follow the annual River-Cade Parade and an exhibition by the U.S. Army parachute team, the Golden Knights.

{M3Each of the six winners of the final competition will receive a bicycle and bicycle helmet.

The Smile Contest is sponsored by the orthodontic clinic of Drs. Richard Wagner, Tim Kuntz and Jim Grabouski, the orthodontic clinic of Drs. Dan Kaler and Brenda Dick and the North Sioux City Dental Clinic of Drs. Donald Cork, Bethany Nielsen and Ryan McKenna.

The bicycle helmets will be provided by Sioux City Lionesses. Consolation prizes will be provided by Thinker Toys.
