Discussion about houses in the 500 block of 3rd St. continued among village council members at their meeting Thursday night.
Councilman Tim Still said he and Councilman Gene McClusky looked at the houses Wednesday night, and at one of the properties, a camper was propped up on boards with an electrical cord running to the house, “like it’s not going anywhere soon.”
The house also had trash and tires in its yard.
Councilwoman Terri Edwards said council will look into the matter because it might become a health issue.
In other business, council:
– HEARD from Police Chief Rob Hunt that the police department doesn’t want to get involved in the conflict concerning drivers parking in the unnamed alley between 6th and 7th Sts. The “no parking” sign was taken, but has been replaced. He said the homeowners need to approach council.
