Mouthwash adds moisture

A new product worth noting:

Oasis Moisturizing Mouthwash for Dry Mouth

What it is: A mild, mint-flavored, alcohol-free mouthwash that lightly coats the inside of your mouth to lock in moisture.

What it does: Leaves your mouth feeling moist and smooth and your breath fresh for up to two hours after rinsing.

Secret ingredient: Hydrogenated castor oil. (Don't worry, it doesn't taste like castor oil.)

Who it's for: Anyone suffering from dry mouth because of medications; cancer patients undergoing radiation; smokers; and athletes who work out in the heat.

This is no substitute for adequate hydration, but some triathletes have volunteered testimonials for Oasis mouthwash and spray, says Lori Lukus of GlaxoSmithKline.

How to use it: Rinse for 30 seconds with one ounce of mouthwash in the morning and again before going to bed. Carry the spray and use as needed. Do not swallow or refrigerate it.

Where to get it: Most groceries and drugstores for about $6 for either the rinse or the spray.
