Gardening author featured at health center event

A grand-opening event will be held at Aurora Health Center from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature free health screenings, a workshop by the Wisconsin Kiters Club and children's activities including a magician and kite flying. Attendees will receive gifts while supplies last, including kites for kids, wellness gift baskets, gardening kits and door prizes.

Nationally-known author and gardening expert Melinda Myers will discuss her new book, "Month-by-Month Gardening in Wisconsin." The presentation will be followed by a book signing and question-and-answer session with Myers from 12:45 to 2 p.m. Pre-registration is required for Myers' presentation. The Aurora Health Center in Mayville opened March 5. Family Practice Dr. Michael Ritter and Physician's Assistant Britta Braden provide a full spectrum of medical care for everyone from newborns to elderly patients.
